A quite
recent Czech band with two members from the BM band Moravská
Zima.
Žrec mix in a very good way traditional slav folk music with the metal music in a way that remember the old mighty Skyclad, whit vocals in the BM style and clean epic one.
Very interesting is the use of acoustic instruments, that gives
the album a more archaic and mystic sound, keeping high the
metal flag.
Eight tracks six from the band, one a remake of the traditional
song 'Lystoczku
Czerwenyj' and a cover 'Nebeské
Stríbro Perunovo' from the ukrainian gods Nocturnal Mortum.
Thie
album is in the slav folk metal way but with personality, no
nazionalistic stuff, as for the band from the slavonic pagan
front; anyway the album is fresh, folk pagan, quite dancing.
A mix beetween past and present, easily and honestly for whom
who have a great heathen feeling for whom who like folk music
and it's contaminations with the metal world.
A great album evocative and well played!
