ENSOPH "BLEEDING WOMB OF ANAKE" - 2001

Good, amusing and above all original.
This CD of Ensoph (produced by Beyond… Production), doesn’t disappoint anybody.
After having heard speaking a lot about it I have received it and I have really to say that words were really well told about it.
They merit all the compliments for this CD. It’s hard to find a definition for their music, the matrix is without doubt metal, but inside their tracks there are many influences which go from goth, to classical music, industrial, folk, till back to black and starting metal. And all is accompanied by their theatricality.
It’ s very good the choice to introduce tracks sung in Italian, a thing which I always appreciate.
The screaming accompanies always every tracks but it’s not the only way to sing that we find, in fact the voice has been used in various ways following to the needs, and in every songs there are pauses created by a piano or by the notes of a flute.
The result of this work is complete and really original.
The first time I have heard it I enjoyed to find some referring bands: Das Ich, Corpus Delicti, Christian Death of “Third Antichrist”, Moonspell, Tiamat, Cradle of Filth, etc.
But Ensoph can make these influences belonging to their music in the sense that they create at the end a very good product, a concentrate of years and music, a meeting among genres which are still in discussion.
Ensoph with their CD, do they open a new musical era? We’ll wait and see…
