Here we are reviewing the new Black Flame album "The Third Revelation".
I already had occasion to review the previous "Orgiastic Funeral"
where the trio from Turin introduced 5 tracks of a good old-style black
rich in emphasis and dark atmospheres. The only remark I had to do in
that occasion was about the maybe excessive use of theatrality... but
well, they made the change!
Even not abandoning some gloomy sonorities that mark the nearness of this
genre to an obscure and malign imaginary, Black Flame move towards a more
hard and direct sound; the black marries with a sane thrash metal among
the more violent ones, the musical composition is very well cured and
diverse, and slips away never boring the listener - yet unchaining his
savage and dark rage.
More "violent" part come side to side to more "thoughtful"
ones; even the vocals, already well done in "Orgiastic Funeral"
become more convincing and less emphatic, and that's a good point.
One last thought goes to the recording that , while in the previous album
was found wanting, and penalized especially the drumming, in this work
is much more clean and professional. Overall a valid album clearly marking the band's evolution, a positive
thing indeed, since in my opinion an artist always looks forward and tries
to evolve in the best way, even when one comes to the top - never resting
on his laurels, but always striving to improve his style.
Therefore I cannot help but congratulate with the band and recommending
their work to everybody!
