| MALNATT "PERLE PER PORCI" - 2002 |
|
Malnàtt are a particular band, and they surely like to joke (pack-saddles to think that the 12° track is written in order to take joke of the new crossover/nu-metal fashion). The particularity of this band are the folk-intro wich are executed with “fisarmoniche”, “sonagli” and other typical instruments of the tipical folkloristic tradition of Bologna, those instruments that however accompany all the song, also when the typical instruments appear (electric guitar , bass and drums) that, together to thescream/growl voice propose a well-arranged black-thrash. Perle per Porci is a disc that was recorded well, it’s also well-played but it’s good only to laugh a little with friends. From the “informative prospect” that was sent to me I read “we propose ourselves to make something totally new (and it’s ok), or at least to repeat differently what the masters of the past have taught [... ]” and here my stomach start to close itself... I explain, remake anything in a personal way it’s good, to have inventiveness is goot, innovations are good, but to expect to repeat the instructions of the big of the past producing intro and sounds that seem those that listens my grandfather when it goes to drink with alpine it’s a bit excessive... The lyrics thematic go from the solitude sense, to the Christian hypocrisy, Nordic mythology, those lyrics aren’t always very comprehensible ‘cos some of them are written in Bologna’ slang. Debatable also the choice of the thematics, because, in my opinion, they aren’t according to the “happy sound” of the cd, but everyone is free to make what he wants. In conclusion I can assert that Perle per Porci is a frivolous disc, of easy listening to (even if it’s quite boring) but surely not adapt to be catalogued in one of the “extreme metal genre”, I don’t know to who advise to listen to this album (sure not to the old-style blackster :p), perhaps it’s an album adapt to who want to laugh a bit or to who want to listen something particular... ::DeAtHg0d:: |
