DIEN SCHATTEN "EWIGES EIS" - 2003

Music project as Dieter Bornschlegel with his (dark-electro/wave-metal) ?Dein Schatten are put in that musical dimension that I use to call “cultured music”, in fact it is part of a stylistc and compositive procedure that is in the same time inclined to trendy solutions (as ASP and Rammstein) but attentive to doesn’t disperd the searchin also in a musical genre such as the experimental-electronic one. To classify a work as Ewiges eis is impossible because it is very contaminated. Of curse Bornschlegel learned something from Germanic electronic experimentation ( I. Can, Popul Vuh, Tangerne Dream, Klaus Schulze, Richard Wanhfried) in fact the track number 7 (free) is quite similar to Time Actor a track written in 1980 by the great Arthur Brown with Klaus Schulze; metric and rolling of the track are too similar but it’s stronger because of the lyrics wirtten in german, that give to the track the right power.
In the track number 5 (Tranen der seele) D. B. can resume an important apocalyptic/orchestral atmosphere (like Mondsucht) maintaining, of curse, style and originality, succeeding to mix those characteristics with skilful knowledge in order to transport the listener near science fiction and glacial scenes. Ewiges eis results an intelligent and poured album, that shows more than a face but it doesn’t demonstrate that is adaptable to every taste.
Personally a winning album.
