EMBODYMADNESS "EMBODYMADNESS" - 2004

“Embodymadness” is the new name of the more well-known Ecatomb, that have decided to change monicker due to the superfluity of the name in the metal scenario (I know 5 of them, he he) and I think that their decision is justifiable.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a biography to refer to, but I know that the group has done several years of working and a remarkable live experience, italian and foreign, and this experience is not to go on unnoticed.
What does the group offer us with this homonymous cd composed of four tracks is a good melodic (but not too much) death metal, that has nothing to do with lots of the groups that today refer to themselves as “death metal bands”, obviously without taking off anything to the others, but I find their melodic parts more integrated, more calibrated and more balanced in the heart of the compositions, and not charged.
Melodic parts walk foot-by-foot with very dark death parts and other more technical ones.
Very good are the skills of the members of the band, and very good are Angelo’s growl performances, singer and bass-player of the band, but what I liked least is the part sung in screaming, that does a lot of contrast, but I find it not very convincing, almost “grotesque”. I’m instead very convinced of the deepness of the very good growl.
Surely a band to follow, especially for who is a death metal fan.
