HUGINN "CENTURYES AGO" - 2003

By Marco's inspirations has its origin the discography baptized under the name Huginn.
What I'm going to review, reading the biography and the discography, seems to be the most simphonycal part of the whole project.
Background attitude shows a black kindness for a never too melodic atmospheres, dense of sinister emotions in some parts.
The atmosphere/ambient factor is bringed to front, to recall around a precise landscape;"Once upon a time" and "Alone with my spirit" are a clean sign about how the cd whants to karry the listener into the remote dimension wherein Huggin lives "Dreaming ... emotions".
Closer cover, Bathory "home of once brave", is inserted - and done - in a perfect way and wants ot confirm the "pagan metal" sort of the album.
Really right the produciont, never too clean and never too dirty, well arranged and original tracks, which remembers just in some parts slow arpeggios in songs of MayheM,as in "Dreaming Emotions".
By now Huginn project seems to have been absorbed by Skoll, where Marco is supported by some session men.
As just said, one is not in front of an extreme metal album - even though there is the particular composer's attitude - but in fornt of a work to consider particular and to listen to carefully without to lose particulars hidden inside, more inside ...
