METHEDRAS "RECURSIVE" (PROMO VERSION) - 2004

It's really a nice prelude this promo cd, which contains three of the eight tracks that will be included in the imminent full lenght.
Methedras are active as band since '97, after some change of line-up; they have released a demo cd and two promo cd each one with a self production, ever in search of better composition and sound, 'cause the will of the band is - and they've done this - to propose a solid '80 thrash metal that ignores soft and too commercial, really diffused now whane we are far away from that period.
The beginning and successive developement of "Drowing by torment" is simply primordial, even though with a good production which shows a band with a good tecnical base. I cannot don't think to bands as Nuclear Assault, but the song-writing doesn't seem forced to this. I riff are enchained in a good way and still alterned: the hearing of the successive tracks is by this way well disposed, a cd presented and ready to be devoured.
Then follows a 'slayerish' opening of "wreck'n'roll"; slayerish due to the guital arpeggio and drum rythms. The vola parts with innest worthy of Chuck Billy often refers to Testament, both with some guitar passages. "My iniquity whirl" is developed within heavy-speed metal parts in Anthrax style but ever with the evvective personalization of the whole. Guitar solo aren't limited to the classic avalanche of notes between legates and hammer on, but are developed with more reason.
A more deep study of the sound and the developement of songs on the same way as those, will produce a very interesting cd for maniacs of '80 metal. A cd that seems we will not have to await for a long time, for the band is just entering the studio...
